Once again, this past January Abengoa participated at the International Water Summit event in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This time, Carlos Cosín, CEO and President of Abengoa Water, gave a presentation in the panel titled “Developments in sustainable desalination and water reuse" where he outlined the extensive background of Abengoa in desalination techniques with renewables that are already taking place in different countries within the Middle East.

During the presentation it was noted how Abengoa is currently working on different desalination technologies that havebeen applied in renewable projects such as the Al Khafji desalination plant with solar energy in Saudi Arabia and the desalination plant with reverse osmosis and membrane distillation technologies in Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, it was presented that Abengoa's capacity to develop water infrastructure projects under the PPP model or operating and maintenance projects that are tailored to customers’ needs both economic and environmental.

The panel also had the presence of leading experts in the field such as Dr. Corrado Sommariva or Dr. Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-AlShaikh.

Abengoa, as a leader in desalination, is committed to working every day to provide increasingly efficient projects that are also environmentally sound, helping in a sustainable way those regions in their fight against scarcity and water pollution.
